Week 30: March 14 - 18

Dear Wynn Families,

Please see what is happening this week below:

  • Wynn ES is offering Summer Acceleration from May 31st - June 17th, excluding June 14th due to elections.  If you want your child to participate, please use the link below to sign up.  The deadline to sign up for summer school is Wednesday, March 16th at 4:00 PM.  Please note, we will not be able to offer before or after-school care, and all students will be required to be picked up at 3:11 PM.  Please email me directly if you have any questions at [email protected]. 

  • Mark your calendars for an upcoming family workshop, Navigate Cyberbullying and Social Media.  The workshop will be on March 23rd and held in English at 6:00 PM and Spanish at 7:00 PM.  Flyers for the workshops will go home on Wednesday.

  • Please mark your calendars for the upcoming SBAC assessment that 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades students will be taking.  It is imperative that students show up to school well-rested and ready to try their best.  We will send home more information to families about the assessments they will be taking and what you can do to help!

    • 5th Grade: 

      • Science - March 29th and March 30th

      • Math - April 4th and April 5th

      • Reading - April 6th and April 7th

    • 3rd and 4th Grade:

      • Math - April 4th and April 5th

      • Reading - April 6th and April 7th

  • March 18 is Holi, the Indian Festival of Colors. Ms. Anna welcomes spring with a colorful story, craft and symbols. After watching the video, students will match familiar symbols with their meanings.

  • If your student is not feeling well or has any symptoms of COVID-19 listed below, has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or tested positive with COVID-19 (provide a copy of test results to the health office), they must stay home from school. Notify the School Nurse if any of these occur: cough, chills, sore throat, muscle pain, fever 100° or higher, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell, congestion, fatigue, headache, runny nose, nausea/vomiting, or diarrhea.

Vea lo que está sucediendo esta semana a continuación:

  • Wynn ES ofrece Aceleración de verano del 31 de Mayo al 17 de Junio, excepto el 14 de Junio debido a las elecciones. Si desea que su hijo participe, use el siguiente enlace para registrarse. La fecha límite para inscribirse en la escuela de verano es el Miércoles 16 de Marzo a las 4:00 PM. Tenga en cuenta que no podremos ofrecer cuidado antes o después de la escuela, y se requerirá que todos los estudiantes sean recogidos a las 3:11 PM.   • Marque sus calendarios para la próxima evaluación SBAC que los estudiantes de los grados 3, 4 y 5 tomarán. Es imperativo que los estudiantes lleguen a la escuela bien descansados y listos para dar lo mejor de sí mismos. ¡Enviaremos a casa más información a las familias sobre las evaluaciones que tomarán y lo que pueden hacer para ayudar!

  • El 18 de Marzo es Holi, el festival indio de los colores. La Sra. Anna da la bienvenida a la primavera con una colorida historia, manualidades y símbolos. Después de ver el video, los estudiantes unirán símbolos familiares con sus significados.

  • Si su estudiante no se siente bien o tiene alguno de los síntomas de COVID-19 que se enumeran a continuación, ha estado expuesto a alguien con COVID-19 o dio positivo con COVID-19 (proporcione una copia de los resultados de la prueba a la oficina de salud), debe quédese en casa y no vaya a la escuela. Notifique a la enfermera de la escuela si ocurre cualquiera de los siguientes: tos, escalofríos, dolor de garganta, dolor muscular, fiebre de 100 ° o más, falta de aire o dificultad para respirar, nueva pérdida del gusto o del olfato, congestión, fatiga, dolor de cabeza, secreción nasal, náuseas / Vómitos o diarrea.
