Week 1: August 7 - 11

Dear Wynn Families,

We are thrilled to have your children start another school year of learning and fun!  Please review the following information carefully:

  • Welcome back to school!  Please follow the procedures below to ensure a smooth arrival and dismissal of school.

    • Use the church parking lot to park.  Parking on the street or making U-turns in a school zone is against the law and may result in a ticket from the police department.

    • Please be kind and patient with the traffic and at the crosswalks.  We want to keep students safe and model respectful treatment of others.

    • For the first two days of school, families will be allowed to enter the school gates to meet their student’s teacher.  Please line up in a single file line by the gates to keep families safe.  Review the pictures of the maps below to see where you can enter the school and where your student’s teacher will be located.

    • If you do not know your child’s teacher’s name, there will be staff members with a list to guide you.

    • Once you find your child’s teacher, let the teacher know who will be picking up your child after school.  Then you will exit the campus.

    • After the first two days and for the first week only, families in kindergarten and first grade will be allowed to walk their student to the classroom but then must immediately exit the campus.  Students in second through fifth grade will not be allowed to enter with families and will walk through the breakfast line and then go directly to the classroom on their own..

    • Beginning the second week of school, students in kindergarten and first grade will go directly to the teacher’s classroom on their own.  Students in grade second through fifth will go through the breakfast line and directly to their classroom.  Families will not be allowed on campus.  There will be staff members to help your students feel safe and get to their classroom.

    • At 3:11 PM, the gates will be opened, and families will go to their teacher’s lineup spot and pick up their child.

    • If you need assistance or have concerns, please go to the main office for assistance but please know there will be many families in line to register.

  • Please be patient and kind as many families will need assistance.  If you have any questions or concerns, please see the staff in the main office or email the principal directly at [email protected].  You will get a response within 24 hours.

  • Students will be bringing home a packet on the first day.  Please return the required forms and reach out to your child’s teacher with any questions.

  • Please ensure your email address is up to date, so you can easily receive weekly updates from the principal.  We also encourage families to join Class Dojo.  See your child’s teacher for assistance. Also, look at our website each Monday for updates.

  • Mark your calendars for the following upcoming dates:

    • August 9th - 18th, MAP Assessment:  All students in all grades will be taking the MAP Assessment.  Results will help teachers create personalized learning pathways for all students.

    • August 17th, Open House:  Open House will be on Thursday, August 17th from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.  Flyers with more information will be sent home.

    • August 31st, Fall Pictures:  A flyer will be sent home with information about purchasing fall pictures.

¡Estamos encantados de que sus hijos comiencen otro año escolar de aprendizaje y diversión! Por favor revise cuidadosamente la siguiente información:

  • ¡Bienvenido de nuevo al colegio! Siga los procedimientos a continuación para garantizar una llegada y salida de la escuela sin problemas.

    • Use el estacionamiento de la iglesia para estacionar. Estacionarse en la calle o dar vuelta en U en una zona escolar es ilegal y puede resultar en una multa del departamento de policía.

    • Sea amable y paciente con el tráfico y en los cruces peatonales. Queremos mantener a los estudiantes seguros y modelar un trato respetuoso hacia los demás.

    • Durante los primeros dos días de clases, las familias podrán ingresar por las puertas de la escuela para encontrarse con el maestro de su estudiante. Forme una fila en una sola fila junto a las puertas para mantener a las familias seguras. Revise las imágenes de los mapas a continuación para ver dónde puede ingresar a la escuela y dónde se ubicará el maestro de su estudiante.

    • Si no sabe el nombre del maestro de su hijo, habrá miembros del personal con una lista para guiarlo.

    • Una vez que encuentre al maestro de su hijo, infórmele quién recogerá a su hijo después de la escuela. Luego saldrás del campus.

    • Después de los primeros dos días y solo durante la primera semana, las familias de jardín de infantes y primer grado podrán llevar a sus hijos al salón de clases, pero luego deberán salir inmediatamente del campus. Los estudiantes de segundo a quinto grado no podrán ingresar con las familias y caminarán a través de la línea de desayuno y luego irán directamente al salón de clases por su cuenta.

    • A partir de la segunda semana de clases, los estudiantes de jardín de infantes y primer grado irán directamente al salón de clases del maestro por su cuenta. Los estudiantes de segundo a quinto grado pasarán por la línea de desayuno y directamente a su salón de clases. No se permitirán familias en el campus. Habrá miembros del personal para ayudar a sus estudiantes a sentirse seguros y llegar a su salón de clases.

    • A las 3:11 p. m., se abrirán las puertas y las familias irán al lugar de la fila de maestros y recogerán a sus hijos.

    • Si necesita ayuda o tiene inquietudes, diríjase a la oficina principal para obtener ayuda, pero tenga en cuenta que habrá muchas familias en la fila para registrarse.

  • Sea paciente y amable ya que muchas familias necesitarán ayuda. Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud, consulte al personal de la oficina principal o envíe un correo electrónico directamente al director a [email protected]. Recibirá una respuesta en 24 horas.

  • Los estudiantes traerán a casa un paquete el primer día. Devuelva los formularios requeridos y comuníquese con el maestro de su hijo si tiene alguna pregunta.

  • Asegúrese de que su dirección de correo electrónico esté actualizada, para que pueda recibir fácilmente actualizaciones semanales del director. También alentamos a las familias a unirse a Class Dojo. Consulte al maestro de su hijo para obtener ayuda. Además, consulte nuestro sitio web todos los lunes para obtener actualizaciones.

  • Marque sus calendarios para las siguientes fechas próximas:

    • 31 de agosto, Fotos de otoño: Se enviará un volante a casa con información sobre la compra de fotos de otoño.
